Bank overdraft ruling blow to small businesses

High street banks have won their appeal at the Supreme Court over unauthorised overdraft charges

Small business owners have been hit by news that the Supreme Court has ruled in favour of UK banks in the overdraft charges case.

At stake is an estimated £2.6bn of annual income for the banks, which had appealed against earlier rulings. Small company owners had been hoping to be able to reclaim money that banks had taken off them with overdraft charges.
