Sir Alan Sugar has been has been made enterprise czar in the Prime Minister's cabinet reshuffle.

The entrepreneur and star of The Apprentice will have to be nominated for a seat in the House of Lords to enable him to take up a role in Gordon Brown's government.

"What needs to be sorted out is the economic climate, small businesses and other enterprises," said Sir Alan after a meeting with the Prime Minister.
