In the current economic climate, rising costs and reductions in staffing levels are putting increasing pressure on businesses to ensure that no time or resources are wasted. Mobile working is revolutionising the way we all work. Small steps can make a huge amount of difference, empowering companies to help maintain a healthy and happy workforce, and grow their business.

While this is a priority for some organisations, there are still too few businesses experiencing the full benefits of mobile working.

Create flexible working guidelines which can be easily communicated throughout the firm
A YouGov survey found that 63% of UK businesses now offer some type of flexible working to employees. However, only 23% of employees questioned were fully aware of the options available to them. This divide between employees and management is sadly all too frequent. Businesses need to provide clear guidelines to their staff, which can be easily implemented throughout the organisation. Staff should also receive training in order to feel confident that they can access all necessary information and carry out their normal roles when working away from the office.

Don't get caught without connection
It is not only frustrating to lose connection but it can also be detrimental to your business. Customers are vital to any organisation but particularly to a start up or small business trying to establish itself - missing that vital call or failing to send that clinching email, could be the difference between you winning new business or losing out to your competitor. As a result, it makes sense to choose a network provider with a stable and wide reaching mobile network.

Choose the device which is right for you
With such a wide range of devices available, it can often be difficult to know where to start. Firstly, you need to work out what you want from your device. Do you need a laptop to use when you're working from home or a handheld smart phone for checking emails on the move? Once a company has decided what its requirements are, the next step is easy - the wide choice available means there is bound to be a device that will cater to your particular business need.

Build a communications package that suits your individual requirements
Keeping a healthy bank balance is a priority for any business, particularly in the current economic climate. No organisation can afford to pay for what they don't need. While the business next door may want unlimited texts, your staff may prefer to call each other. Ensure you choose a provider which can tailor its package to fit to your needs, not the other way round.

Get the personal touch
Many small and medium companies share the same needs as their larger enterprise counterparts. As such you need to know you are getting the best advice from someone who actually understands your company's issues and how best to tackle them. It goes without saying that a provider that can advise you on all your communications matters would be a valuable add on to any small, medium or large business and who better to ask than the experts themselves.
