Enterprise czar Sir Alan Sugar has called on the government to do more to help create apprenticeship opportunities in the UK.

The star of The Apprentice has said that the government must do more to create apprenticeships for young and old - especially in the light of the recent unemployment figures of 2.4m.

The serial entrepreneur said that the UK's history of helping people learn a trade had been, "scandalously neglected in recent times."
