British Airways have said that Gatwick and London City Airport will not be affected by the next planned strike action from March 27-30.

BA have said that it has increased its flights from the two airports and that the numbers of cabin crew that wish to work as normal has risen.

The union Unite recently staged a three-day strike from March 20th until Monday March 22nd. The strike affected flights even after the action was over - BA's website showed that 20% of flights that had been scheduled up to midnight on Tuesday had been cancelled.

BA have claimed that over the first two days of the strike it operated 78% of its long-haul flights and 50% of short-haul.

In a statement issued to the London Stock Exchange, the company estimated that the three-day strike had cost the company £7m a day.
