The majority of businesses in the UK expect to recruit more staff in the next quarter, according to a survey by Manpower.
Recruitment company Manpower's employment outlook survey held steady for a third quarter in a row, with a seasonally adjusted net balance of 1% of firms planning to hire staff between July and September.
It has held at that level since the first quarter of this year when it entered positive territory for the first time since the end of 2008.
However, there are concerns about what impact the government's cut backs - to be detailed in an emergency Budget of June 22 - will have on the UK's economic recovery.
"The impact of government-imposed spending cuts on both public sector departments and private sector outsourcing is casting a shadow over the UK's gradual recovery," said Mark Cahill, managing director at Manpower UK.
