Tube Lines are going to the High Court in a bid to get an injunction to prevent a strike by maintenance workers.

Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) union will stage a 48-hour walkout beginning at 7.00pm on Wednesday, following a row over pay and job conditions.

Tube Lines will go to the High Court to question whether the union's ballot is legal, mere hours before the walkout is due to start. The strike will impact the Northern, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines.

Tube Lines said that the strike was based on incorrect information - the union has said that 47 advanced train maintenance staff have voted, when only 30 are employed by the service.

Transport for London has said that it does not expect major disruption to services if the strike goes ahead.
