Small businesses in the UK are increasingly confident about their prospects, according to a survey by Bibby Financial Services.

Almost 75% of respondents feel positive regarding economic conditions in the last quarter, compared to 63% who felt this way at the start of the year.

One in six small firms said that the recession had benefited their turnover athough 20% said they were only just keeping afloat.
