Eurozone crisis panicking investors

The unresolved political situation in Greece, following Goverment elections, has forced the thought that Greece might leave the Eurozone, much closer to the political surface.

There is an old market saying that, "if you are going to panic, panic first" and most equity markets have had a complete week of "red " this week, losing in the region of 3% to 4% as investors decide to liquidate holdings, in case a freefall situation is around the corner and Greece leaves the Euro fold, with all the uncertainty that brings.

Spain is also edging into the spotlight, having had a major bank bailout recently, against Goverment policy, with 18 banks having their credit rating downgraded by a major ratings agency yesterday and the Spanish Government having to pay more to fund borrowing as part of the Greek contagion effect.
