The IT problems that have caused limited banking access to a large number of their clients, still go on a week after they first occurred, with clients of the RBS Group that include the Ulster Bank, Natwest and RBS Bank, having limited online access to their banking accounts.
For the first time yesterday, the group opened branches on a Sunday, in an effort to clear up the backlog of transactions effected by this problem and they will extend their banking hours on Monday from 8am to 7pm.
Many clients will be experiencing problems with payments that have not been made due to this situation and the RBS Group has said it will automatically waive any charges incurred because of it and are working with credit agencies to ensure no negative remarks reach client files.
Penalties levied on their customers by non RBS companies who were expecting mortgage, loan or credit card repayments will not be as easy to rectify.
