Thousands of UK students have received the dreaded brown envelope today that contained their A level and A/S examination results, that could decide which career road they embarked on in the coming years. Good results don't necessarily guarantee getting the university place you might like, so a stressful period for on average 16-18 year old students, that need to have their University applications ready within two months.

However for students like Scott Cormack from Kent who received the grades he wanted in the subjects he needed, this is a great day but the start of a much longer journey to a career and a life that may well take him away from the garden of England in due course.
