Figures just released from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show that the number of unemployed in the country over the last quarter, have reduced by 158,000. The total number now is 1.97 million and the overall figure stands at a 6 year low of 6%, falling from 6.2%, the strength of the numbers taking analysts by surprise.

There are over half a million more people in employment in the UK than the same time last year.
