UK Unemployment figures released by the ONS (Office of National statistics) for the third quarter of 2015 show a drop to a level not seen since early 2008.
The overall jobless figure now stands at 5.3%, an improvement of 103,000 over the Q2 figures which took analysts by surprise, the overall unemployed figure being 1.75 million.
Earnings growth however was a little lower than expected at 3% for the period and in September alone grew by just 2%. This gives rise to an overall feeling that the expected US interest rate rise in December, will not beĀ matched immediately here in the UK.
