The place where professionals go to network and file their CV'S - LinkedIn, will soon be swallowed up within Microsoft who have offered US$26.2 billion for their social networking prize, their largest acquisition ever.. The offer price of US $196 was a huge 50% premium over the share price as quoted in the US at the close of last week, possibly designed to checkmate any other companies casting a financial slide rule over LinkedIn.

Looks an expensive purchase and not clear how Microsoft will create sufficient synergy from the liaison to make that level of expenditure worthwhile.
