With a somewhat diminished high street presence these days, Jaeger the rather upmarket men and women's fashion chain, has gone into administration. Buyers have not been found at the £30 million level sought. With 46 branches, just short of 700 jobs are at risk, although the name may well resurface, now owned by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill, who have picked up a number of high end brands that failed to adapt to the challenge of online retailing.
