Leading manufacturer and provider of mobility and care equipment in the community healthcare sector, Prism Medical UK, has formed a new strategic partnership with innovative provider of Internet of Things [IoT] technologies, IoT Solutions Group, to enhance its suite of product and service level offerings and deliver smarter healthcare solutions.

Originally founded in 1984, Prism Medical UK is a leader in multiple healthcare sectors, dedicated to transforming the quality of life of people with health and mobility conditions.

In securing IoT Solutions Group as its new technology partner, Prism Medical UK will now be able to extend its level of care to end users through an advanced ‘in-home sensor', which cleverly monitors the daily activity of vulnerable people living independently, while minimising the risk of severe injury or death.

Already utilised by several Local Authorities across the country, the IoT Solutions Group in-home sensor is designed to deliver peace of mind for carers and family members of vulnerable, independent people by alerting to any changes in daily patterns and behaviours.

Available for use anywhere in the UK, without requiring the internet or WiFi, the sensor does not make any visual or audio recordings of the individual's home, ensuring maximum privacy with optimum care.

Discussing the new strategic partnership with IoT Solutions Group, Claire Litton, Chief Commercial Officer of Prism Medical UK, said: "At Prism Medical UK, we believe that despite poor health and limited mobility, everyone deserves to live life to the full - and whether living at home or in long-term care facilities, everyone should have an equal opportunity to be happy, and independent for as long as possible.

We recognise that the use of technology in healthcare is advancing at an exciting rate, with many smart solutions now available, like the in-home sensor, that offer significant benefit to our end users, whilst aligning with our core mission and purpose as an organisation. We are, therefore, delighted to announce IoT Solutions Group as our new technology partner and believe their innovative and cost-effective devices will provide reassurance to vulnerable people living independently - their families and their caregivers - within both the public and private sector."

Founded in 2018 by CEO, Emma Mahy, IoT Solutions Group is committed to developing remote technology solutions that collect valuable data and provide real-time insights to enable organisations to make faster, accurate decisions, whilst saving costs and delivering better services to society.

Delivered via an end-to-end service, the value of its assisted living device has been proven time and again, having saved the lives of multiple vulnerable individuals who quickly received medical attention after suffering a fall, when the in-home sensor detected a drop in activity.

Emma Mahy confirmed: "Since introducing our in-home sensors to market in June 2020, we have not only been able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the sensor for safeguarding vulnerable members of our communities by working with Local Authorities and other care providers, but we have also been able to highlight the ineffectiveness of some devices commonly used within the care sector which rely heavily on human interaction.

Like Prism Medical UK, we are committed to improving the quality of life of our end users and now look forward to working in the partnership with the organisation to introduce our IoT powered devices to many more homes of vulnerable, independent people across the UK."
