Alchemy Virtual Assistance (VA), the UK's only family-run virtual assistant franchise has reached a major milestone with the launch of its ninth franchise hub, led by Warrington-based entrepreneur Melanie Pollard.

The expansion comes as Alchemy VA reports a surge in global interest from professionals seeking more flexible, meaningful careers and a shift in how businesses view external support.

"We're seeing an increase in both the number and quality of franchise enquiries from across the globe," said founder Suzy Sanders. "Businesses are actively seeking experienced, flexible virtual support, and professionals are looking for a way to use their skills independently while staying connected to a supportive network."

Melanie, a seasoned Legal PA, Paralegal, and Business Support Specialist with over 25 years of experience, launches the Warrington and North West hub this November and will deliver Alchemy VA's full suite of services, from diary and inbox management to project support, marketing, and event coordination.

"After many years in corporate environments, I wanted to use my skills to make a real difference," Melanie said. "Alchemy VA gives me the freedom to build something meaningful while being part of a supportive community that truly aligns with my values."

Meeting the new era of flexible work

Alchemy VA's model, combining local entrepreneurship with the backing of an established, values-driven brand is striking a chord in today's changing workplace. Franchisees gain independence with structure, training, and shared resources, while clients benefit from continuity, security, and proven expertise.

According to Suzy, clients increasingly prefer Alchemy's networked model over hiring solo VAs, as it offers greater reliability and accountability. The company's fractional support model, used for short-term or project-based needs such as maternity cover, is also growing in popularity among SMEs seeking agility without long-term commitments.

Industry momentum

The UK virtual assistant sector continues to expand rapidly, driven by businesses seeking cost-effective yet skilled administrative and operational support. Alchemy VA's steady rise since launching its franchise model in 2019 demonstrates the increasing professionalisation of the industry and the trust that comes with a family-run brand that prioritises people, purpose, and partnership.

"Alchemy VA is big enough to deliver consistently but small enough to care," added Suzy. "That balance is what keeps both our clients and our franchisees thriving."

With Melanie Pollard's Warrington launch, Alchemy VA now operates nine hubs nationwide, serving a growing base of UK clients and continuing to champion flexible, secure, and human-led business support.
