I was pleasantly surprised earlier this week to be invited to a launch in London by the CMI, one of the largest communications companies in China and globally, with close to 100 million subscribers to their services, active in the UK for over 9 years. The event took a close look at CMI's plans to connect travel, communications and local services in both countries and beyond, covered by a further launch of the App JegoTrip [1] though CMLink and a discussion on the future of travel, connectivity and the value of existing partnerships and those that may be made through the course of the evening in a very convivial environment.

Who are CBI and Jego Trip looking to reach?

Well initially in the UK we are hosting around 200,000 Chinese students yearly that need to come to grips with all the idiosyncrasies of UK living on a student income, or lack of it, with UK students having the same needs in Chinese cities and needing an App that can stay seamlessly connected, while supplying all the information you might need in education, tourism and just day to day living in a new country, with different behaviour patterns. There are another half a million Chinese residents in the UK and of course an exchange of tourists to both countries yearly that benefit from a reliable flexible, connection and fountain of local knowledge, which goes beyond just China and the UK, trading partners for over 250 years.

We may be in the age of AI, hopefully for more than the ten years currently predicted for the human race but there was agreement that relationships and indeed partnerships, will become more important than ever and as far as establishing and reinforcing existing contacts was concerned, the afternoon and evening, was a great success.
