Tesco's woes continue with a high profile hacking of thousands of their banking customers, who appear to have lost various amounts from their accounts. The fraud took place over the weekend forcing Tesco to suspend all online transactions. Although 40,000 accounts were involved about half of those have had funds removed but all accounts were blocked while an investigation took place, causing chaos while the extent of the losses was quantified.

The head of Tescos bank, Benny Higgins, has apologised for the breach of their security and has assured customers that refunds will be made as soon as possible to all those affected by the  hacking, believed to be in the region of 20,000.

The wider effect on the company was immediately reflected in the share price that dropped like a stone at the start of the week's trading.
