Duff & Phelps has successfully secured over 250 jobs and led the project responsible for over £35 million of new investment going into one of the oldest surviving amusement parks in the UK, Dreamland.

Following its initial reopening in 2015, Dreamland struggled financially and ultimately faced Administration, which could have seen this remarkable business being lost forever. However, with the appointment of Ben Wiles as Administrator, who introduced new thinking and led careful negotiations with relevant stakeholders, the business has been rescued from Administration and continues to attract new investment to position Dreamland as a premier attraction for the future.

Dreamland has traded under various companies for generations and is an important part of the local community, providing over 60 full time jobs as well as employment for in excess of 250 seasonal workers.

Ben Wiles, Duff & Phelps, stated: "Having re-opened after development works in the summer of 2015, the Company initially entered a Company Voluntary Arrangement on 23 December 2015. However, the Company continued to face cashflow pressures into 2016 and Duff & Phelps were introduced and subsequently appointed as Administrators on 27 May 2016."

Following the appointment and an initial period of trading, with the support of the secured creditor, Arrowgrass, the strategic options for the business were formulated by Duff & Phelps and reviewed in detail with Arrowgrass and management. As a result, and after some often very difficult negotiations, it was decided that the optimum outcome for all stakeholders would be achieved by implementing an operational and financial turnaround of the business to create a unique amusement park, with rides, quality food and beverage, and importantly, a new events business cementing the future with a growing music offering.
