Disability advocate, Yasmin Sheikh, Founder of Diverse Matters, and Amanda Okill, Senior Employment Lawyer at Furley Page will host the workshop, which aims to improve confidence with disability and health conditions, and boost inclusivity in the workplace.

The free workshop, titled How to be Confident with Disability in the Workplace, will take place on Wednesday 3 October at Hardwicke Chambers, New Square, London. The workshop is aimed at employers, HR professionals, diversity and inclusion experts, managers, and people with disabilities.

Amanda Okill, Senior Associate at Furley Page, said: "A common assumption made about hiring disabled people is that they risk making businesses unprofitable, due to high absence levels, costly adjustments and the possibility of tribunal litigation. However, these misleading presumptions about disability at work risk holding back employers and their staff.

"Organisations that fail to engage positively with as diverse a talent pool as possible, including those with disabilities, risk losing valuable opportunities and expertise, while misguided and incorrect assumptions about disability put many businesses off hiring disabled people.

"This workshop will focus on visible and hidden disabilities and highlight some of the many benefits to employers in recruiting from the widest possible talent pool, including people with disabilities."

The free training workshop will cover:
