On Sunday 16 September there will be just 100 days to go till Christmas Day. And the courier comparison site ParcelCompare says some Christmas posting deadlines are as early as this month.

This Sunday is the start of the Christmas [1] countdown - just 100 days until December 25th. Whether you're a business planning final order dates, or have relatives overseas and planning when to send a parcel, ParcelCompare [2] says it's never too early to start planning.

There may still be 1000 working days left, but the experts in international parcel delivery says some final Christmas shipping deadlines are closer than you think.

ParcelHero's Head of Consumer Research, David Jinks MILT, says: ‘At ParcelCompare we spend much of our time doing what it says on the tin and comparing parcel delivery dates and prices from all the leading delivery companies and couriers. It's perhaps surprising to see tha tthe final sending date for International Economy to places such as Australia and New Zealand, using the Post Office, is actually this month - September 28th.'

Explains David: ‘International Economy mailings to Australia, New Zealand and all other non-European destinations - except Canada, Far East, Middle East, South Africa, and the USA - have a surprisingly early deadline using the very cheapest way to mail a present across the globe in time for Christmas.'

Continues David: ‘On ParcelCompare you'll find courier shipping to Australia for as little as £25. And Parcel Compare's fastest services will make a large UK parcel delivery in time for Christmas from as late as Saturday 22nd December. But would you really want to leave until the very last minute?'

Warns David: ‘Last winter snowstorms hit the UK on the 11th December, closing schools and roads across the country. Whether you are planning on sending a Christmas parcel to Singapore, or deciding the last possible date to order presents online, we always recommend you allow for unexpected events such as snow storms, floods or even last year'st hreatened postal strikes, which could all potentially delay your parcel till after the big day.'

Concludes David: ‘Using ParcelCompare, anyone can find the cheapest or fastest delivery service to the UK or any of the 220 countries we serve. And your chosen courier will come to your home or work and pick up your parcel - saving those long Christmas Post Office queues.'
