Organisations using BT Business Total Broadband are now able to turn their BT Business hub into a BT Openzone wireless hotspot at no extra cost, meaning anyone visiting their premises can now log onto a separate secure channel to check email, use the internet and make VoIP calls.

"This is something totally new for UK businesses of any size, from the smallest start-up to larger multi-site businesses and all those in between," said Bill Murphy, managing director, BT Business.

"It is a real differentiator for businesses, offering the potential to deliver a prime business service to their visitors and dramatically increase the number of locations from which they can connect and do business.

"It also offers the option to create a new revenue stream by selling BT Openzone vouchers while serving their customers and visitors better."

BT's research claims 28% of small businesses believe offering such services to guests would help their relationships with those people.
