Eureka moment
I set up the UK's first dating photography business in 2013, specialising in creating gorgeous, natural photos of our clients to help them increase click-throughs on their online dating profiles. I then noticed that clients were requesting photos specifically for their LinkedIn profiles or for their own business websites. They were keen to express and showcase their personality not just for their dating profiles but for their work identity too.

While there are tons of traditional corporate headshot photographers on the market, I realised people want their personality to shine through in their headshots. People who want to get ahead in their career need to connect with people on an emotional level and strong images do this more quickly and effectively than video, audio or text. Our mission? To help them showcase their personal brand through their headshots.

Financing

The business model for Hey Tuesday is exactly the same for Hey Saturday, the dating business, which I seeded with my own money, meaning everything was in place ready to go from the systems and the equipment to the photographers.

Regrets
No regrets. Life's too short.

What would you have changed?

It's still early days so there's nothing I would have changed as yet. But when the time comes when something needs to change, I'll get on the case and do it. One thing I've learnt over the last few years is that the environment you're working in can change really quickly and the business needs to adapt and change too if you want to stay ahead.
