Whoever said that the economy is sinking and all attempts to survive are like ‘arranging deckchairs on the titanic' clearly hasn't been present at the recent trade shows we have attended. It was good to see such a positive atmosphere when discussing export markets with the various manufacturers of farm machinery who displayed at the recent Cereals Event; it helped that the weather was bright but the atmosphere was clearly positive. This was also evident when talking to manufacturers at MEDTEC, some of whom had really embraced the international scene and provided a clear indicator that the UK medical device manufacturing market continues to evolve and grow even under the most aggressive of economic conditions.

Not only is manufacturing an area of growth within the worldwide economy but so too are the food and drink industries and UK Farming exports. ‘'The potential for continued growth in exports from the farming, food and drink sector is significant. 2010 saw the sixth consecutive year of growth in value.'' DEFRA  Jan 2012

Indeed in November 2011, Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green launched a national campaign to highlight the valuable role professionals and organisations closest to UK firms can have in encouraging them to pursue growth through exports.

PAB Translation Centre responded to this challenge and now has a portfolio of export clients from within the agricultural and manufacturing fields, in medical and technical sectors and is ideally placed to enable SMEs to compete in the global marketplace through enhancing communication and removing the headache out of those initial introductions and negotiations.

Exporting ultimately makes good business sense and against a difficult economic backdrop PAB Translation Centre supports SMEs enabling them to grasp opportunities confidently and grow their markets through exporting to the emerging economies around the globe.

‘'In 2011 exports were up by 30% and we anticipate these figures increasing in 2012,'' commented Carole Metcalfe, Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator at Tong Peal Engineering. Carole commented ‘‘At Tong Peal, we recognise the importance of communication not only when selling our products and in after sales support, but also in developing comprehensive instruction manuals regarding the machinery we build. PAB Translation Centre has been integral to our foreign language communication, helping us to translate and develop technically accurate operator manuals, as well as in offering guidance with marketing materials and language support.''
