Having secured an equity investment deal worth hundreds of millions, Convivia is now on an exciting trajectory for growth and has acquired multiple buildings under its Group structure over the last 12 months, with each positioned in a strategic location across the UK.

In joining the business, Victoria will now be responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance and risk management activities, while managing all legal and reputational risk to ensure the firm adheres to the highest standards of compliance.

A credible legal professional with extensive experience in corporate and commercial law as well as property and hospitality, Victoria joins Convivia from previous General Counsel and senior legal positions held with Yotel and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Prior to this, she thrived in a demanding role within the corporate M&A team of both Latham and Watkins and Allen & Overy.

Discussing her new appointment, Victoria Kachel, General Counsel of Convivia, said: "I am incredibly excited to be joining Convivia as the inaugural General Counsel for the Group. Having come from both the corporate and hospitality worlds, I am looking forward to lending my legal and commercial skills to the group as it grows, while fulfilling my passion to help Convivia achieve its goal of redefining the public housing sector."

Roy Ledgister, CEO of Convivia, added: "The team and I are delighted to welcome Victoria to Convivia at such a crucial and exciting stage of our growth journey. Not only does she boast a proven and impressive legal background, she also has beneficial experience within the property and hospitality sector.

Having her skillset in-house will not only enable us to tackle any legal, compliance and risk challenges head on, but also at greater speed and efficiency - enabling us to accelerate our growth and realise our vision to revolutionise the public housing sector."

Influenced from the Latin ‘Convivio' with origins in "community / coming together", Convivia is a fast-moving real estate and Proptech business on a mission to establish the gold standard of luxury affordable homes through its unique procurement model and proven design methodology.

Victoria's appointment follows the announcement of Sir Stephen Hilliar as Non-Executive Chair of the Board, with additional announcements planned for September 2022
