The competition has already seen entries more than quadruple on last year and is being supported by organisations across England, including; Bentley Motors, Capgemini, Cumbria County Council, E.ON, Metroline, Persona HR, Plymouth County Council, Rolls-Royce, Virgin Media and Visa Europe. Last year's winner aerospace firm Cobham, has also entered a team of apprentices this year to defend their title.

Godfrey Owen, Chief Executive of organisers, Brathay Trust, said:
"This year's challenge is already shaping up to be a tough competition that will see apprentices given the opportunity to strengthen on both a personal and professional level. We are very much looking forward to seeing more entries submitted in the coming days and welcoming the finalists from across England and various sectors to Brathay in June."
Jaine Bolton, Chief Operating Officer at the National Apprenticeship Service, said:
"We have already seen some great organisations enter teams, but we would welcome more entries to really hot up the contest. This competition gives apprentices the opportunity to shine and be recognised for the great contribution they offer to their employers. We also know that the skills they gain from this competition will stay with them for the whole of their working life and lead them to grow professionally."
Mark Hayward, Engineering Training Manager at Metroline who have entered the Challenge said:
"Challenges like this are essential for the apprentice's growth and development, both personally and professionally."
