BA 'worst airline for cancellations'
British Airways (BA) has been named the worst European airline for cancellations by Channel 4 programme Dispatches.
Businesses will be interested to learn that the airline has scrapped one in 50 of its flights to and from Heathrow this year.
The programme revealed that passengers are often refused compensation for the cancelled flights on the grounds of ‘extraordinary circumstances'.
A BA spokesman defended the company, pointing out that over 250,000 flights are operated a year which involve over 30 million customers.
He added that, "Despite having one of the most congested airports in the world as our home base, we achieved a 10% operating margin last year - well ahead of comparable network carriers."
