EasyJet Profits up by 51%

EasyJet yearly profits take off to a massive 51% rise, pre tax to £478 million for the year to  September 30^th with just short of 61 million customers contributing to the pot.

The change to allocated seating was given as the main reason for this surge in results, a better trading environment in Europe and their operation of the Flybe slots they took over at Gatwick.

The company plans to give back to shareholders a special dividend of£175 million on top of the standard dividend payment, that sent the share price 6 % higher on the excellent trading news yesterday.
