Equity panic stops on Fed move
The global collapse in Equity markets has been halted by the US Federal Reserve confirming that rates will stay at low levels for the next two years.
This certainly halted the sellers who sold the FTSE down to the 4700 level and from there it made an amazing 10% come back, all in one session. Not the investing scenario for the faint hearted. This move was also mirrored in many of the other senior markets around the globe.
However, that is all that has happened with many economists calling for something more meaningful to shore up hghly nervous and volatile markets. That something would be the next round of Quantative Easing or QE3 as it is commonly known and at the moment there is no sign of this happening.
