Half of small firms confused over how to improve energy efficiency
Half of all small businesses are unclear over what action they should be taking in order to become more energy efficient, according to a survey conducted by British Gas Business.
The poll also found that while 97% of small firms are concerned about reducing their energy consumption, 23% feel there is a lack of information on how to achieve this.
"Small businesses often lack the resources of larger organisations when it comes to analysing their energy usage and looking at ways to cut consumption," said Kanat Emiroglu, director of SME markets at British Gas Business.
"Cost cutting is essential to small businesses as we move deeper into the recession, but by taking simple energy efficiency measures, companies could save up to 20%."
British Gas have issued a free online tool to help small firms deal with their energy consumption. For more information visit www.britishgas.co.uk/BGB-EnergySaversReport/EnergyEfficiency
