IMF upgrades UK growth forecast for 2014
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised it's forecast for UK GDP for 2014 to 2.9%, up from 2.4% only three months back, that would put UK economic prospects for 2014 ahead of all other senior economies. Growth for 2015 is seen as slightly lower at 2.5%.
This good news was released as part of the IMF World economic outlook and takes into account our falling unemployment figures and below target inflation data but there is still concern over consumer debt levels and availability of credit. They did however think that business investment was not sufficient and our export figures were disappointing, despite the government's push in this area.
