Online fraud industry worth £3.35bn
Online fraudsters have access to £3.35bn, a year-long investigation by Symantec has revealed.
The survey came up with the figure by multiplying the average fraud figure per card (£234) by the number of cards they estimated were available.
"These figures are indicative of the value of the underground economy and the potential worth of the market," said the report.
It also revealed a list of the most common cases of fraud available for purchase by other criminals, with credit card numbers top of the list and accounting for 31% of cases.
This was followed by bank details at 20% and spam/phishing information with 19%.
