Business Advice for all UK firms from starting a business to flotation
Positive Action event to help firms beat the recession a success
Around 200 people attended the University of Hertfordshire's Positive Action event, which offered advice and guidance about how businesses can combat the recession.
Stand holders at the event - whose partners included Business Link, the Federation of Small Businesses and Herts Chamber of Commerce and Industry - included numerous colleges and business partners such as SA Law, Clydesdale Bank, Ethnic Minority Business Group and Jobcentre Plus.
The event featured a Keynote speech from Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of the Coffee Republic and a question and answer panel with business leaders.
Workshop sessions ran either side of the Keynote speech and Q&A Panel, with topics ranging from ‘Keeping and managing your customers' to ‘Turnaround Management.' The largest audience was for the ‘Start your own business' workshop session.
"The event was extremely interesting and I've come away with lots of actions to take. Sahar's talk and the Q&A session were particularly fascinating," said Sarah White, who attended the event.
The University is planning future business events that will cover topics such as training and re-training and how people can start their own businesses and has complied 101 ways that companies can survive the downturn.
