Retail Sales down Olympics blamed

UK retail sales were down by 0.4% in August from this time last year, the warnings about Olympic related traffic and more packed than usual tubes, keeping spenders out of central London.

The figures just released by the British Retail Consortium have shown a general fall in all non food categories, the lowest since last November.

Online shopping was also hit by the "Olympic" effect which showed a much lower growth figure than usual of 4.8%.

Well you can shop anytime but there will only be the one Olympics for most of us and  it was certainly worth all the effort that went into the truly amazing spectacle.
