Royal Mail workers vote for strike action
Small business owners have been warned that Royal Mail postal workers have voted to take strike action over job security and working conditions.
Postal workers voted three to one in favour of strike action, with 61,623 out of a total of 80,830 workers who voted saying they wanted to strike.
There have already been a series of regional strikes around the country in recent weeks that have caused small business owners serious problems with a backlog of millions of letters containing much needed payments.
The Royal Mail and the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) are at odds over pay deals and the modernisation of the business. Companies in the UK have warned Royal Mail bosses that they will lose their business if further strike action continues.
A date for the strike action has not yet to be announced, but the CWU must give seven days notice before any strike begins.
