SME bosses concentrate on growth
Small and medium-sized business bosses have doubled the amount of time they are spending trying to grow their company, according to data released by Vodafone.
With two thirds of SME owners positively changing the way they work the average boss now spends almost a third of their working week solely on planning and delivering growth against the 13% they spent towards the end of 2009.
Research conducted last year found that 24% of small business bosses became tied up in administration and non-essential tasks. Almost six months on, barely 10% of business bosses prioritise administration or office tasks above a focus on growth.
"It's encouraging to see that small business bosses now recognise the need to return to the helm to focus on growth," said Rob Shardlow, sales director for small and medium businesses at Vodafone UK.
