SMEs urged to apply for Queen’s Award
Small and medium sized companies have been urged to apply for the 2010 Queen's Awards for Enterprise by previous winners that have spoken about the business benefits that winning the award brings.
Recent research revealed that 75% of last year's winners experienced a substantial increase in press coverage in the first year alone, 82% a considerable boost in employee engagement and over two thirds increased recognition in overseas markets.
"Winning the Queen's Award has not only been a tremendous team builder and generated a huge amount of press coverage but I estimate it has added a full 10 per cent to our turnover," said Colin Crooks, CEO of Green-Works, an environmental firm that won an award in sustainable development last year.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise recognise and rewards the success of growing British businesses in three areas - International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.
Applications for the awards must be submitted before 2.00pm on the 30th of October. Entry is free and application forms can be downloaded by clicking here
