TUC warns over work bullying
Every organisation should have an anti-bullying policy to prevent instances of staff being harassed at work, the TUC has said.
The union body's research found that one in seven people had been bullied at work, with those aged between 45 and 54 the most likely targets.
One in five of the 3m respondents to the survey said bullying was an issue at their place of work while 14% said they had been bullied in their current job.
"This level of bullying at work is completely unacceptable," said TUC general secretary Brendan Barber.
"Every organisation needs to have an anti-bullying policy, and every manager should ensure that there is zero tolerance of bullying either by line managers or workmates."Post Date: September 5th, 2008
