UK General Strike

With the Government saying that strikes will not acheive anything, about 2 million people are expected to join the General Strike today, the largest since 1979, if these numbers join the many marches planned.

Many public workers are expected to march, hit hard by various negative changes to their pension plans and widespread disruption to schools, airports, hospitals and Governmental departments can be expected.

The combined effect of the strike will have an estimated negative effect on the balance sheet of UK PLC of around £700 million.
