UK inflation drops below 2.5%
The UK's inflation rate has fallen to its lowest level in more than two years due to record rainfall forcing High Street clothing traders to bring forward their summer sales.
The consumer price index (CPI) rate of inflation fell to 2.4% in June, from 2.8% in May, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. Analysts had forecast the rate to drop to 2.7%.
