Remote working

Remote working used to be viewed with suspicion by small business owners, and perhaps several years ago this feeling was justified. However, with the growth and development of new technology this viewpoint is no longer justified.

The ever increasing technological innovations of mobile phones, the ability to access work emails and even your work desktop from any computer in the world and the internet mean that remote working should not be discarded by small firm owners.

Over 60% of survey respondents said remote access actually increased productivity amongst their staff

A recent survey by remote access and support firm LogMeIn seems to indicate that small business owners are coming around to the business benefits that remote working can bring.

Over 60% of survey respondents said remote access actually increased productivity amongst their staff, and 54% of respondents think their staff's use of remote access services will increase over the next six months.

Only 21% of small companies are worried about the productivity of their staff when working remotely

A big benefit that remote working can bring to your business is through increased staff morale. It is a cliché, but it is true nonetheless; the most important aspect of your business is your staff.

By allowing employees to occasionally work from home and avoid the hassle of a commute into work your business will gain more motivated and happy employees.
