Sorsco, an industry leading provider in logistics and procurement for the hospitality sector, has pledged to support the nutritional and educational development of over 730 of children in central Africa, following a trip to Moshi in Tanzania this autumn.

In working with food and drink suppliers from many countries worldwide, Nigel visited Africa to gain first-hand insight into the country's supply chain, while volunteering for Soweto Primary School in Moshi, located at the foot of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania
Here, Nigel gained first-hand insight into the sheer challenge hundreds of families face in not only accessing quality food supplies, but also vital support services, such as education and healthcare.
As such, Nigel and the Sorsco team have donated over £3,000 to support members of Soweto Primary School, providing over 1400 meals a day, while funding the cost for over 700 children to remain in education. Furthermore, the Sorsco senior leadership team have now pledged to donate both time and resource to those living in third world countries on an annual basis as part of its mission to source quality and affordable food and drink supplies worldwide.
Nigel confirmed: "My trip to Tanzania was a true opener, which showed me a completely different meaning to food supply chain and logistics.
Here, the school plays a critical role in feeding the children - most of which do not get any food at home. Yet, parents often struggle to make payments for school food, which does not have the budget or resource to cover the shortfall.
To overcome this challenge and to help support those living in the village, Sorsco has pledged to supply the food and drink for the remainder of the calendar year, which means all children will now have two meals per day when at School. In understanding first-hand just how hard these families have to work to survive, we are now in the process of setting up a more permanent fundraiser to ensure each child is provided with two meals per day on an ongoing basis."
