Eureka moment?

We did not have a "Eureka" at the time, but with hindsight, it was the decision to enter the online furniture sector. Having grown up in the first ecommerce generation, we were able to capitalise on our experience within the online furniture marketplace.

Finance

Organic revenue had been generated from years of eBay trading, so there was no bank loan or investor. We had to boot strap for three years doing every job. We worked 7 days a week and every decision we made had the profitability of the business in mind - we soon become financially astute. We were very young, so had few personal overheads, meaning we were able to reinvest in stock and propel our growth.

Regrets

Regrets are a double-edged sword. On the one hand there are numerous things you look back on and say you regret. However, you learn something from each of these ‘regrets', in turn allowing you to make some great business decisions later on. Regrets are directly linked to risk and without taking risks we would not be where we are today, so there are few regrets that we have, other than not starting earlier!

What would you have changed?

We are aged 24 & 23, have a business that is employing over 30 people and we're doing some really exciting things in the ecommerce world. We are able to get up each day and direct our energy to something we have built and love. Sometimes you need to count your blessings.
