Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Government agency responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. It's the third largest seed investor in Europe aims to ensure the prosperity of Irish/Scottish trade relations pre-Brexit looking to increase certainty in the current uncertain climate. 

The trade mission led by the Irish Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys TD and Enterprise Ireland's UK Manager, Deirdre McPartlin, who have helped facilitate significant new contract wins with Scottish partners and expansion in the UK market.

New contracts include:

  • O2 and Over-C announce five-year UK technology partnership with ScotRail
  • ABP Food Group signed a 2-year partnership agreement with Central Solutions
  • IDASO opens first UK office in Edinburgh
  • Cleantech has won a £1.7m tender contract to upgrade the water infrastructure at Glasgow Airport.

Scotland/Ireland Success

  • For Scotland and Ireland, exports in each direction have increased by over one hundred per cent since 2012[1]
  • In 2017 Irish-Scottish trade exceeded £1.8 billion, up by 130 per cent over the last five years
  • Ireland is the fourth largest Foreign Direct Investor in Scotland
  • Over the last year alone, the Fintech exports of Enterprise Ireland clients to Scotland grew by 12%
