First Class Learning (FCL), currently the UK's fastest growing tuition business with over 300 centres throughout the UK, has revealed that tuition franchises have never been in such high demand.  It therefore represents an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to start a business which is both personally and financially rewarding.

Education is one area which has been hit badly by the imposed lockdowns, with many pupils really struggling both academically and emotionally due to the enforced move to home learning. With the end of the pandemic hopefully in sight, concerned parents are now determined to help their children catch up on all the education they have missed over the last two years.

FCL has received a record number of enquiries from parents who know their children need extra support to make up for the disruption to their learning. Schools have been doing their very best but have been under huge pressure to adapt in such difficult circumstances, and unfortunately it has proved impossible for them to provide pre-Covid levels of education.

FCL is a franchise tuition business that focuses on building the skills and confidence of its students. This is achieved by taking a personalised approach to children's learning using the highly regarded maths and English programmes, which are created by the in-house team of qualified education specialists. FCL works with children and their parents to ensure that it is the best fit for them - and, of course, the same goes for prospective franchisees. Core to FCL's success is investment in people, which puts children at the heart of everything it does.

Award winning maths and English programmes

Our maths and English programmes have been created by a team of qualified specialists, with a wealth of experience in the education sector. We are here to make a positive difference to children's learning development. We base our programmes on the National Curriculum and the two pillars of education, maths and English. With over 300 centres nationwide we are the country's fastest growing tuition franchise. Our unique study programme is individually tailored for each student. Whether they are struggling at school and lacking in confidence or not being challenged enough to reach their full potential, we work at a pace that's right for them. We want to make sure every child counts.

As no two children are alike, we start by assessing every child - irrespective of their age or ability. All our franchisees, or Centre Managers as we call them, are provided with the tools and training to complete unique skills assessments in both maths and English. By determining a child's strengths and the areas they need to work on, we then create a personalised learning programme for every child, from our extensive range of learning materials. Covid uncertainty has had a massive impact on children, parents and teachers, but what is most important is that we keep giving our young people the tools they need to progress.

Over the years First Class Learning has developed a strong reputation as having some of the most impressive and effective maths and English learning materials in the tuition sector. Our renowned ‘blue worksheets' are recognised and admired across the UK. Aligned to the National Curriculum, they strike a balance between building skills, knowledge reinforcement and encouraging self-learning.

What we are looking for

We're looking for like-minded and motivated individuals with the desire to run their own business helping children overcome reach their full potential in maths and English. Above all else we are looking for people who share our passion for working with children and helping them succeed.  Beyond the financial rewards, the hard work pays off when parents share the significance of your role in helping their children to reach their full potential. It is important to us that potential franchisees have the qualities needed for the role - to ensure that working together is the right move.

Our business model ensures franchisees get a high percentage of profits, as your class grows. Centre Managers choose the days and times that suit their venues, as well as the tuition fee structure for students at their centre. Our set-up also offers a great deal of flexibility based on personal circumstances, and therefore a great work/life balance.

First Class Learning has low start-up costs, with investment levels varying depending on where a centre is situated with initial franchise fees starting at £8,000 + VAT.  These costs cover training, website set-up and access to the Centre Managers' Portal, marketing and business support, plus an Accelerator Launch Package worth c.£2,000 and exclusive rights to operate an FCL Centre and use the FCL brand in your  franchise territory. Furthermore, FCL offers a 100% franchise fee discount in month one, then a 50% discount for a further three months to give new starters plenty of time to enrol your first students.

Case study

Ex-Headteacher, Shazia Hussain, had worked as a teacher for over twenty years but decided during the pandemic that it was time to ‘get her life back.'

Shazia, who is continuing in education and has recently launched her own First Class Learning tuition franchise in Cambridgeshire, explains: "I realised in the pandemic that it was time for me to gain my life back. To have some flexibility and time with my family while creating my own business that will pay me in my old age as opposed to a pension that I may not live to receive or may not be enough to live off.

"I started my First Class Learning business in October 2020, but as the country was locked down I officially kick-started my business in June 2021. I used the initial time to upskill myself around business development and networked with other FCL Centre Managers, so I was ready to hit the ground running post lockdown. In terms of effect, it has generated a lot of interest as so many children have lost learning during the pandemic. Families are keen to support their children's education by supplementing their learning after school and are seeking an affordable option. We are not only affordable but high quality too."
