AllClear and InsureandGo CEO takes the wheel for men's health

Chris Rolland, CEO of AllClear and InsureandGo, will take part in the Distinguished Gentleman's Drive in Guildford, Surrey, on Sunday 27 September, joining classic car owners worldwide in a 1967 Jaguar E-Type for a fundraising drive for Movember, the men's health charity.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive is a global event in which owners of classic cars drive in aid of men's health, raising funds for prostate cancer research and mental health programmes. Rolland is covering all his own costs, so that every pound donated goes directly to Movember.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide, and it very often develops silently, with no early symptoms to give any warning. And, every minute of every day, somewhere in the world, a man dies by suicide (Movember). Two facts that need no embellishment, and the reason Rolland decided that simply writing a cheque was not enough: he wanted to do something visible, and ask others to join him.

Commenting ahead of the drive, Chris Rolland, CEO of AllClear and InsureandGo, said: "As the leading specialist in travel insurance for people with medical conditions, we see every day how much a diagnosis can change someone's life, and how much difference getting checked early can make. This cause matters to me personally, and I want to use my position to encourage every man reading this to act if something doesn't feel right. It's a small thing to ask and it can make all the difference. I'm just doing my bit to help a great charity."

AllClear and InsureandGo have specialised in medical travel insurance since 2000, when AllClear became the first UK provider to focus solely on cover for people with pre-existing health conditions. Between them, the two brands provide cover for over 1,300 different medical conditions, including cancer. InsureandGo is also listed on the government-backed MaPS Travel Insurance Directory, which helps people with serious health conditions find insurers willing to cover them.

That work puts health, and the impact of a diagnosis, at the centre of the group's business every day. Rolland's fundraising is a personal extension of the same conviction that drives the company: that a diagnosis, whatever it turns out to be, should never stand in the way of living fully, whether that means getting on a plane or simply getting checked in time.
